This is a huge mouthful of malt and hops. It has notes of bitter rich chocolate and hints of tar. A new hop called Summit was used to give it the perfect hop balance. This porter is the creme de la creme.

“Brown black color with a rocky reddish tan head. Dark chocolate, roasted nut, creamy and melon aromas follow through on rich, supple entry to a dryish medium-full body with delicious dark nut toast notes and a long, tart, kumquat, cocoa, and pepper fade with vibrant astringency. A delicious and food friendly porter to serve with charred steaks”

HISTORY

Imperial Porter was first brewed in July 2007 as a special product for the Oregon Brewer's Festival and is an Imperial version of Rogue's award winning Mocha Porter. As of 2010, Imperial Porter is no longer available in 750 ml swing-top ceramic bottles, but is available in a new package and new name: Double Mocha Porter.
