Rogue brewed its Ales within the Bayfront Brewery until 1992, when "Howard", the 15 barrel brew system was carried across the Newport Bay to the current location. The Rogue Nation's Department of Agriculture has entered into a strategic alliance with Heritage Hop Growers, the Coleman Family. The Rogue Hop Farm is on the Willamette River, south of Independence, Oregon on the former John Haas Alluvial Hop Farm. Four varieties are now being planted on 42 acres with an initial harvest in 2009. The four varieties are Perle, Sterling, Horizon, and Centennial. The hops will be processed and baled on the farm. We are proud to join with Oregon Farmers who provide the essential ingredients for Oregon's thriving fermentation economy. Hours of Operation: 7 AM - 6 PM, Monday-Friday ROGUE FARMS HOP YARD TOURS: The Rogue Department of Agriculture will begin educational tours of the farm, where guests will learn about the planting, growing, and harvesting of Rogue hops. Tours will take place July 6, 13, 20, and 27th. We will leave from the Portland pub and drive to the Hop Yard in Independence, Oregon. Tours are free of charge for Oregon Craft Beer Month. Features a Columbia River view, meeting and party space, adjacent luxury suites, pizza and outside seeting. The Fisherman's Suites can be combined for a 3 room luxury mini retreat that is more than enough room to sleep 16 people, each with spectacular views above the Columbia River. The Captain Suite, the largest of the three has a Jacuzzi tub, a gas fireplace, full kitchen, dining room, and living room with beautiful Asian mahogany hardwood floor and restored original fir beams.
