Rogue Nation Continues New Expansion, Plants Its Flag in Nine Countries October 20, 2008 - (NEWPORT, OR): Ex-pats and locals alike can now order up a bottle of Rogue Ale in Australia, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Trinidad and Tobago. The countries may be new to Rogue, but selling abroad isn’t: the Newport, Oregon based craft brewery has been exporting its lineup of ales for years, beginning in Japan in 1993. 14th Annual Bones & Brew Festival Raises $11,000 For the Oregon Zoo! August 27, 2008 - (PORTLAND, OR): The 14th Annual Bones and Brew Festival raised $11,000 for the Oregon Zoo’s new Predators of the Serengeti exhibit. Dogs Rule at 2nd Annual Brewer's Memorial Ale Fest June 27, 2008 - (NEWPORT, OR): The 2nd Annual Brewer’s Memorial Ale Fest was held on May 16-17th in Newport, OR and benefited Oregon Humane Societies. 3,200 people with 471 of their best friends attended the festival created in memory of Brewer, the faithful companion of Rogue Brewmaster John Maier, who passed away on May 20th, 2006. Rogue Gets Spicy for Cinco de Mayo April 3, 2008 - (NEWPORT, OR): Rogue’s Chipotle Ale is Brewmaster John Maier’s salute to Mexico. John added smoked Jalapeño peppers (called Chipotle peppers) to his brew and balanced the spicy flavor with a good helping of hops. The recipe was inspired by Spanish author Juan de la Cueva, who, in 1575, wrote of a Mexican dish that combined seedless chipotles with ale. Dead Guy Appearing in Basements & Garages Nationwide! February 19, 2008 - (NEWPORT, OR): Brewcraft USA, a nationwide distributor of brewing equipment and ingredients began distributing a Rogue Dead Guy Ale Homebrew kit on January 23, 2008. The Dead Guy kit is the first beer kit for homebrewers that was cooperatively developed and branded by a U.S. craft brewer. Rogue Jazz Guy Ale Goes on Tour February 15, 2008 - (NEWPORT, OR): The 2008 Jazz Guy Ale limited edition bottles will premier in conjunction with the Portland Jazz Festival. Rogue has been a proud sponsor of the Portland Jazz Festival and for the past three years has created a custom bottle. A portion of the proceeds from the Jazz Guy Ale bottle will be donated to the Portland Jazz Festival. This year Rogue Jazz Guy Ale will go on tour. American White Rum Wins Platinum January 25, 2008 - (NEWPORT, OR): The World Beverage Competition held in Geneva, Switzerland announced its Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze award winners. Rogue Spirits won the Platinum medal in the White Rum category. The judges commented, "Watch out Caribbean Rums." Rogue Spirits also received the Bronze medal in the Dark Rum category and another Bronze in the Flavored Rum category for their Hazelnut Spice Rum. Brewers Association Reports Surge in Craft Beer Growth September 14, 2007 - (BOULDER, CO): The Brewers Association, the trade association that tabulates industry data for craft brewers, reports craft beer sales and growth continue to break records. The volume of craft beer sold in the first half of 2007 rose 11% compared to this same period in 2006 and dollar growth increased 14%. For the first time ever craft beer has exceeded more than a 5% dollar share of total beer sales. Overall, the U.S. beer industry sold one million more barrels in the first half of 2007 compared to 2006, with 400,000 of these new barrels produced by craft breweries. This equates to 3.768 million barrels of craft beer sold in the first two quarters of 2007 compared to 3.368 million barrels sold in the first half of 2006. Read the Full Release: Download PDF
