Eugene City Brewery Brings Home Gold

EUGENE, OR., April 19, 2010 – Eugene City Brewery has been awarded two GOLD medals at the World Beer Championships for Triple Jump Pale and 200 Meter IPA.
Previously, Eugene City Brewery’s Triple Jump Pale Ale recieved awards for quality at the 2009 World Beer Championships, at the 2008 U.S. Beer Tasting Championships, at the 2008 North American Beer Awards and at the 2008 New Zealand International Beer Awards.
200 Meter IPA was also recognized for quality in the 2009 World Beer Championships, the 2009 New Zealand International Beer Awards and the 2009 Australian International Beer Awards.
This year’s award winning beers use barley and hops from micro farms in Tygh Valley and Independence, Oregon. THESE AWARDS VALIDATE OUR COMMITMENT TO SAVING THE TERROIR OF HOPS AND BARLEY FROM EXTINCTION – ONE ACRE AT A TIME.
Eugene City Brewery is an artisan varietal brewery founded in October of 1994. Previously known as the West Brothers BBQ and then the Dive Bar & Grill, the location has its roots in the original historic Eugene City Brewery, established in 1866. The new Eugene City Brewery creates world class Track Town Ales in a 7 barrel brew system. Track Town Ales have 40 national and international awards for taste and quality.
