The 162nd Mobility Augmentation Company Comes Home

I am pleased to announce that the 162 Mobility Augmentation Company, home stationed in Dallas, OR has returned home!  Their Demobilization ceremony will take place today at 4:00pm in Dallas, OR. Each soldier will be presented with a custom 22oz special edition bottle during their return ceremony.

The 162^nd Engineer Company, home stationed in Dallas, Oregon, deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom November 2009- November 2010.  The company provided Route Clearance Operations to the United States Marine Corp (USMC) within Helmand Province, Afghanistan.  162^nd was tactically controlled (TACON) as TASK FORCE BIGFOOT with two platoons from the 204 Engineer Company and under the Oregon command, to the 2^nd Combat Engineer Battalion(CEB)-USMC  and then the 3^rd Combat Engineer Battalion –USMC.  TASK FORCE BIGFOOT cleared 25,000km of route, spent more than 6,000 hours on active mission, and encountered nearly 200 IED events during its deployment.  162^nd received the Combat Action Citation Streamer, was nominated for Presidential Unit Citation for performance with 2^nd CEB, and had more than 31 Bronze Stars/ Meritorious Medals awarded to its soldiers during its deployment.
