PORTLAND, OR, August 19, 2011 – Portland streets were closed down Thursday as Rogue hosted a parade to kick off the first annual Portland Beer Week. Star of film and flagon, Sebbie Buhler, graced the parade by cutting the ceremonial ribbon as she made an appearance to taste a few of the 62 beers the Green Dragon has on tap.

Sebbie made the cross country visit to attend the premiere of The Love of Beer, a film celebrating women in the craft beer industry, in which she appears.

Rogue honored the start of Portland Beer Week while flag wavers, Bucko the Buckman Brewery mascot, bicycles, motorcycles, food carts, wheelbarrows, wagons and forklifts, marched around the blocks, to a roaring crowd of onlookers.

Portland Beer Week runs from August 19th – 28th, an extra 2 days added to help recovery time from the week’s festivities. Events at the Green Dragon bookend Beer Week with the opening Parade and The Great American Nano Fest on August 27th & 28th.
