ROGUE INDEPENDENCE HOP & HERITAGE FESTIVAL
INDEPENDENCE, OR, October 10, 2012 – Thousands gathered in Independence, OR, the historic “Hop Capitol of the World,” to celebrate the Rogue Independence Hop & Heritage Festival.
The Rogue Independence Hop & Heritage Festival celebrates the centuries old hop growing culture of this vibrant agricultural town. In addition to Rogue Farms Hopyard tours, Farmstead brewing demonstrations, homebrew competition, DIY Workshops and beer & spirits tastings, families also had the opportunity to watch hot air balloons lift-off, lawn mower races, live concerts, a grand fireworks display at sundown and take part in the traditional “ghost walk” tour of the town.
Rogue Ales & Spirits grows seven unique varieties of aroma hops on 42 acres in Oregon’s Wigrich Appellation. Since 2008, Rogue has remained dedicated to saving the terroir of Oregon hops, as well as barley, rye, pumpkins, hazelnuts, jalapeños, berries and honey, one acre at a time by growing their own. All of the ingredients grown on the Hopyard & Barley Farm are used to create the Chatoe Rogue family of beers & spirits.
Rogue Ales & Spirits is an artisan varietal brewery and distillery founded in Oregon in 1988, as one of America’s first 50 microbreweries. Rogue has over 900 awards for taste and quality and is available in all 50 states in 32 countries.
