GOLD Invented in Oregon

EUGENE, OR (November 1, 2012) –Homebrewer Chris Studach and Rogue Ales Brewmaster John Maier are honored with back-to-back Gold medals for Rogue Hazelnut Brown Nectar Ale at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver, Colorado.

Studach & Maier invented Hazelnut Brown Nectar in Eugene, OR in 1993 for the American Homebrewers Association National Conference. It has since received 60 awards from 18 national and international awards competitions.

The Great American Beer Festival awards gold, silver and bronze medals for excellence in 75 beer-style categories. Over 4,330 beers from 666 different breweries vied for gold at the Great American Beer Festival this year before a blind tasting panel of 185 beer experts and 120 volunteers from 11 countries.

Rogue Hazelnut Brown Nectar and Hazelnut Spiced Rum are available for purchase year-round in good craft beer & spirits bars and stores across the country.
